J.K. Rowling got Harry Potter fans all riled up on Twitter over the holiday weekend by revealing some new information about her Professor Snape character.

When asked by a fan why Harry named one of his kids after the Hogwart's teacher, she responded, "Snape died for Harry out of love for Lily. Harry paid him tribute in forgiveness and gratitude." The tweet got fans in a tizzy which prompted Rowling to write, "I've got to say this: you lot have been arguing about Snape for years. My timeline just exploded with love & fury yet again. Never change x." She went on to write, "Snape is all grey. You can't make him a saint: he was vindictive & bullying. You can't make him a devil: he died to save the wizarding world. In honoring Snape, Harry hoped in his heart that he too would be forgiven. The deaths at the Battle of Hogwarts would haunt Harry forever. Snape was a bully who loved the goodness he sensed in Lily without being able to emulate her. That was his tragedy. Snape didn't die for 'ideals'. He died in an attempt to expiate his own guilt. He could have broken cover at any time to save himself but he chose not to tell Voldemort that the latter was making a fatal error in targeting Harry. Snape's silence ensured Harry's victory. He stood to gain nothing personally but the triumph of the cause Lily had believed in. He was trying to do right."

  • It is revealed in the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, that Harry named his son Albus Severus after Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape.

Hayden sought treatment in October after revealing her condition on Live! with Kelly and Michael saying, "There's a lot of misunderstanding. There's a lot of people out there that think that it's not real, that it's not true, that it's something that's made up in their minds, that 'Oh, it's hormones.' They brush it off. It's something that's completely uncontrollable. It's really painful and it's really scary and women need a lot of support."

The final Hunger Games movie may not be performing as well as the previous installments but audiences are still flocking to Mockingjay -- Part 2. It took in $51.6 million over the holiday weekend and managed to fend off newcomers including The Good Dinosaur, Creed, and Victor Frankenstein.

Disney and Pixar's latest, The Good Dinosaur, nabbed second place with $39.2 million. Distribution chief David Hollis said in a statement, "Credit is due to Pixar and their consistency for putting movies out in the marketplace. They have a 20-year streak for delivering movies in the A CinemaScore range and from a consistency standpoint, that's above and beyond any comparison brand wise." Its success is expected to continue through the holiday season. It was initially scheduled for release on May 30th, 2014 but was pushed back when director Bob Peterson removed himself from the project. He was replaced by Peter Sohn.

  • Rocky spin-off, Creed, took the third place spot with $30.1 million and played particularly well among men over 25. A Warner Bros. exec told Deadline, "When you look at the business in medium and small town theaters with a film like this, they typically tell you how long you're going to be around, and this is pretty significant. Everything came together for this film: brilliant filmmaking thanks to Ryan Coogler, brilliant performances from Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone, as well as a brilliant marketing campaign and the right release date."
  • The weekend's other big release, Victor Frankenstein, failed to crack the top 10. It landed in 12th place with $2.3 million.
  • The expanded release of Brooklyn helped the film land in ninth place with $3.8 million.

MICHAEL B. JORDAN WANTS TO DO ANOTHER 'CREED': Michael B. Jordan is already hoping to do another Creed movie. He told the Associated Press, "A character so rich as this, and the world he's in, I want to see what happens to him next and what he does. Especially the way it ends off, it's pretty cool. Lionsgate is deeply committed to making films that reflect the diversity of our audiences. We have, can and will continue to do better." Proyas added, "The process of casting a movie has many complicated variables, but it is clear that our casting choices should have been more diverse. I sincerely apologize to those who are offended by the decisions we made." Selma director Ava DuVernay responded to the apology by tweeting, "This kind of apology never happens - for something that happens all the time. An unusual occurrence worth noting.
