Recap of PONY Softball World Series Played in Burleson, TX.

What a tournament it was for five Evangeline Parish softball teams who participated in the PONY World Series in Burleson, TX this past Wednesday through Saturday.  Ville Platte has their 8 and under and 10 and under teams their and Mamou had their 8, 10 and 12 and under teams participate as well.  KVPI was there and able to broadcast 11 games in the four day event.  Congratulations to all five teams as they represented their home towns, Evangeline Parish and Louisiana with excellence.  According to KVPI Sports Director Randy Guillory, the final game of the tournament broadcasted by KVPI was one of the most exciting games he has ever had the opportunity to call.  And he has called hundreds of games over the years.  It pitted the Mamou and Ville Platte 10 and under all-stars playing for the championship.  The game went back and forth and was finally decided in the second international tie-breaker with Mamou winning 11-10.   KVPI salutes all the teams, coaches and families who were there cheering on their teams.
