Evangeline Police Jury Ready To Open Concession Stand

      The Evangeline Parish Police Jury, Wednesday, in a special meeting approved the quote from Benny Dupre to open a concession stand in the Evangeline Parish Courthouse. Dupre’s bid was $400 a month for three months with an option to renew. The jury agreed to approve the proposal after a review by their legal advisor. Dupre says he will be ready open  his new business that will be called “The Docket” right after Labor Day in September. He will be selling primarily subs and salads.

     In other business the police jury:

--approved adding two additional members to the Ward Five Fire Protection District Board: Jason Fontenot and Phillip Ardoin;

--approved hiring Michael Fontenot as a new courthouse custodian from a total of ten applicants;

--voted to approve the firm of Landreneau and Associates as administrator and engineering firm in the parish’s application for the 2013 Louisiana Community Development Block Grant Program. The police jury has until November to apply for a grant to do one of the following projects: streets, water, or sewer improvements.
