Ville Platte Teams Regional Champs


BOTH VILLE PLATTE TEAMS WIN REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

      The Ville Platte Super Ten’s and Dixie Majors All Star teams won their respective championships in the Dixie Youth South Regional Tournament in Metairie.

      The Ville Platte 12 Year Old Dixie Majors defeated St. Mary  8-5 in the finals today (Wednesday) to go unbeaten through the tournament. They advance to represent the South Region in the State 2 out of 3 Tournament beginning Friday in Alexandria.

     The Ville Platte 10 Year Old Super 10 Year Old All Stars beat St. Mary 13-1  today (Wednesday). They also advance to play this weekend in State 2 out of 3 Tournament in Alexandria.

     KVPI Sports covered all of the games for both teams through the week.  We are now making arrangements to cover both teams this weekend in Alexandria. Special thanks to our sports announcers: Tracey Jagneaux and Chris Bordelon.

Dixie Youth Regional Tournament Update

 

  In the Dixie Youth South Regional being played in Metairie, the Ville Platte 12 Year Old Dixie Majors defeated Minden tonight (Tuesday) by a score of 12-2 in a game over KVPI FM. The Ville Platte All Stars advance to play in the championship game Wednesday morning at 10:00am on KVPI FM against St. Mary Central. Should Ville Platte lose, they will play again 30 minutes later against the same team.

  The Ville Platte Super Tens All Stars beat Jena tonight (Tuesday) by a score of 14-4 in a game played on KVPI AM. Our Super Tens will play at 10:00am Wednesday against West Monroe. Should Ville Platte win that game, they would play a second game against St. Mary who got a bye. Those games can be heard on KVPI 1050AM.

    The winners in each tournament advance to play in the state two out of three tournament in Alexandria this weekend.

Dixie Youth Regional Tournament Update:

 

The Ville Platte 12 year old All Stars defeated Minden tonight by a score of 1-0 in the Dixie Youth Regional Tournament in Metairie. The game was broadcast over KVPI FM.

 

The Ville Platte Super Ten All Stars lost to West Monroe tonight by a score of 12-2 in a game carried over KVPI 1050 AM in the same tournament. They will next play at 4:00pm Tuesday against Jena over KVPI FM.

DIXIE YOUTH REGIONAL TOURNAMENT UPDATE

    The Ville Platte Super Tens and 12 Year old All Stars both won their morning games today at the Regional Baseball Tournament in Metairie. The 12 year old Dixie Majors defeated Gonzales 16-11 and they play again at 6:00pm tonight on KVPI-FM with Sports Announcer Chris Bordelon. The Ville Platte Super Ten All Stars defeated Jena 19-4 and they play again tonight at 6;00pm on KVPI 1050AM with Sports Announcer Tracey Jagneaux.

Dixie Youth Baseball Update from the Regional Tournament in Metairie

 

   The games involving our Ville Platte Super Tens and Dixie Majors 12 year old all stars had to be cancelled today (Sunday) due to rain falling at the regional tournament in Metairie.  The games were scrubbed on the first day of the tourney on Friday also due to rain. Both teams won their first games on Saturday.  We are hearing that teams will be playing two games to catch up on Monday. The Ville Platte games will be played at 10:00am with the 12’s on KVPI FM and the 10’s scheduled to be played on KVPI AM.

  With victories by both our Ville Platte Super Ten’s and Dixie Majors 12 year olds on Saturday, the two all -star teams advance in the tournament to play at 2:00pm. The 12 year olds Dixie Majors will play at 2:00pm over KVPI-FM 92.5 and on oldies925.com and our Super Tens game will be heard at 2:00pm over KVPI 1050 AM and on kvpionline.com. Ville Platte Super Tens Win Their First Game in the Dixie Youth Regional Tournament


The Ville Platte Super Ten’s All Stars kicked off their first appearance in the South Regional Dixie Youth Tournament in Metairie with a victory over Gonzales. In a game delayed one day because of rain, the Ville Platte Super Ten’s defeated Gonzales 13-4 in a game aired on Classic Hits 92.5. Their next game will be take place sometime on Sunday. Keep tuned to KVPI for game times. Our coverage continues tonight at 7:00pm with the Ville Platte 12 year old Dixie Majors on Classic Hits 92.5 KVPI and on oldies925.com.

KVPI Sports will be following the Ville Platte Super Tens and Dixie Major 12 year olds as they both compete in the Regional Tournament in Metairie beginning today through Tuesday. Keep listening to KVPI for game times. Today’s games have been pushed back due to all the rain. The 1:00pm Super Tens game is now scheduled for 3;00pm. The 7:00pm game for the 12 year olds is still on at last word.

Come view the amazing artifacts, photos, records, Wall of Fame and hear the music. Admission charge is $3 adults, $2 seniors and $1 for children under 12. The museum is located on Northwest Railroad Avenue.
